Irrigation systems are sort of mysterious creatures because the most
valuable part is under ground, making it
difficult for property owners to
actually know what is going into their system. Most home owners
only understand the basics of an irrigation system. They know that
the system supplies water to their landscape, has heads and a clock or
timer to turn it off and on, but
what they may not know or understand is the
quality of the installation and what actually goes underground, which
also effects the pricing that they get from different installers.
At Southern Lawns our goal is to install a
trouble free irrigation system that is
quality built to last many years
with minimal service.
We use only contractor grade products from major manufacturers of
irrigation products, Hunter, Toro and Rainbird.
These parts are purchased directly from manufacturing reps and
are not the economy grade homeowner products that can be purchased from
Lowes and Home Depot. While
those products are made by the same manufacturers they are an economy
grade and are inferior to the products that we use in our systems and
typically will not last as long or perform as well.
There may also be faster cheaper installation procedures for
installing an irrigation system. But we
have learned thru the years that only the tried and proven installation
procedures used for decades produces the most trouble free
systems.
When designing your system we pay special attention to such important
factors as sprinkler patterns, so that
each area of your landscape receives sufficient water. And
backflow prevention which is necessary to
protect our drinking water supplies. We also know what the
local water, plumbing and electrical codes are,
(each municipality is different) so you can be assured that your system
meets all local codes and requirements. Our systems are also
installed deep enough to not be affected by normal landscape activities
like aerification.
During installation we keep everything neat and tidy and when we leave,
you barely know that we've been there. You are not left with
humps, bumps, or sunken trenches because all lines are hand backfilled
and mechanically tamped. All of the trench lines are then seeded
and covered with straw. Within a few weeks of our installation, your
lawn will be good as new.
When your system is completed we then work with you explaining the
operation of your system and help you set the watering times best suited
for your landscape. You can always be assured of a reliable and
easy to operate system when we do your installation.
Our estimate to you for a system may not be the lowest price you get,
but
we're not about cheap -- we're about affordable
quality. We only
know one way to install an irrigation system
- the right way.
